1920, Antwerp: Italy for the 1st time in Olympics

The Water Polo team of Italy that participated for the 1st time into the Antwerp, 1920 Olympic Games. Standing L-R: Beretta, Baffico, Cabella, Burlando, Ercole Boero. Sitting L-R: Lungavia and Mario Boero.
Italy in Antwerp played only two games. First game for the preliminaries phase was against Spain. At half time when the score was 1-1, the Italian team decided to withdraw complaining for the freezing water of the pool. Against Greece Italy lost with 6-1.
