João Havelange: The distinguished Brazilian

Dr. Jean-Marie Faustin Goedefroid de Havelange, known as João Havelange was born in Rio de Janeiro Barzil on 1916. He was the President of FIFA from 1974 to 1988. João Havelange at his youth, succeeded in several sports, such as Water Polo and swimming. He competed as a swimmer in Berlin 1936 Olympic Games and with the Brazilian Water Polo team in the Olympic Games of 1952, Helsinki. Joao Havelange played Water Polo for the club “Fluminense” of Rio de Janeiro Brazil. On 1951 he participated into the 1st Panamerican Games in Buenos Aires winning the silver medal with the Brazilian Water Polo National team. The team of Brazil in Helsinki 1952: Cunha Figueiredo, Rossi L, Havelange J, DeAlencar Rodrigues, Sili D, Caiado de Castro, Kelly dos Santos, Peri E. Melmann H, Scheimberg S., De Souza Lima.
