1948: The courageous Oszkar Csuvik

Oszkar Csuvik (Oscar Charles) played for Magyar Atlétikai Club(MAC , Budapesti Vasas and , Magyar Testgyakorlók Köre(MTK) and was member of the Hungarian team winner of silver medal in London 1948 Olympic Games. Following the London Games he decided not to go back to Hungary. He lived for two years in England playing for London Kingsbury Club and then migrated to Australia, where he played for Sidney University New South Wales. At first he used the name Oscar Fleming, in case Hungarian authorities tried to trace him, and then started using the name Oscar Charles, which he officially adopted in 1964.
He was the coach for Australia's Water Polo team at the 1952 Olympics in Helsinki. He then continued coaching in Sydney and the skills he taught remain central to the game in Australia.
