1965: Károly Laky while teaching young players

The legendary Hungarian Károly Laky while teaching to young players at BVCS (Budapesti Vasutas Sports Club Szőnyi) the tricks of Water Polo in 1965. Between 1954 and 1956 and 1960 to 1965. Károly Laky was the national team captain of the Hungarian men's water polo team. Under his leadership, the national team won a gold medal at the European Championships held in Leipzig, as well as at the Tokyo He also won the water polo tournament of the 1964 Summer Olympics. He achieved significant sporting success in Cuba between 1967 and 1978, leading the country's water polo team to fourth place at the 1975 World Championship in Cali. 1957: The Champions of Heliopolis SC, Cairo

The team of Heliopolis Sporting Club, Cairo Champions of Egypt in 1957 composed from: Abdel Rahman  Amin, Ohayyed Soliman, Sameh Fahmy, Adly Yehya Shafik, Asharf Khorshed, Ahmed Refaat, Aly Mansour. This magnificent team was winning the National Championships in Egypt until 1972….During this period the HSC water polo team members represented the majority of the National Water Polo team that took part in Rome 1960, Tokyo 1964 and Mexico 1968 Olympics.

1964, Tokyo: The bronze team of USSR.

The team of Soviet Union, bronze winner in Tokyo 1964 Olympic Games. In Tokyo the two favorites were Hungary and Yugoslavia who had been first and second respectively in Helsinki (1952) and Melbourne (1956), and in Rome (1960) have been placed 3-4 behind Italy and the Soviet Union. Those same four teams went through the preliminary round in Tokyo by winning their groups. All four of the favorites also advanced through the semi-final groups, with Russia ranked first ahead of Italy in their group. In the other group Hungary and Yugoslavia won one match each, had one win carried over, and when they met, they tied 4-4, with Hungary winning the pool by goal differential. In the final round, Hungary and Yugoslavia would not meet their match score carrying over from the semi-finals. Hungary defeated Italy 3-1, and the Soviet Union 5-2, while Yugoslavia defeated the Soviets 2-0, and Italy 2-1. This gave Hungary the gold medal by goal differential in the final round, with Yugoslavia second and the Soviets winning bronze. These same four teams had finished 1-4 at the last three Olympic Games (1956-64).

1960's: Eraldo Pizzo "Il Caimano"

1960's: The legendary Franco Lavoratori

Trade card by PANINI with the figure of the legendary player of Pro Recco and the Italian National team Franco Lavoratori. 

Lavoratori won 13 National titles with the team of Pro-Recco, from 1959 to 1974. He was player of the Italian National team that won the gold medal in Rome   1960 Olympic Games.

A leather Water Polo of the 50's. The last time the leather ball has been used at the Tokyo 1964 Olympics. By the Mexico 1968 Olympic Games the leather ball has been replaced by a ball made with an inflatable bladder and a rubber fabric cover.
