Cor Braasem: The Flying Dutchman

Cor Braasem (1923-2009), was one of the best players of the Netherlands, captain of the bronze Dutch team in London 1948 Olympics, 5th in Helsnisnki 1952 Olympics and European Champion in 1950. In 1953 he moved to Spain in order to coach the Club Natacion Barcelona and the Spanish National team. In 1956, Cor Braasem moved, as swimming coach, in CN Manresa. From 1959 to 1962 he moved back to the Netherlands as National coach replacing the legendary Frans Kuyper. Following his great carrier he moved back to Spain taking care of his private businees.
