The legendary Hungarian Károly Laky while teaching to young players at BVCS (Budapesti Vasutas Sports Club Szőnyi) the tricks of Water Polo in 1965. Between 1954 and 1956 and 1960 to 1965. Károly Laky was the national team captain of the Hungarian men's water polo team. Under his leadership, the national team won a gold medal at the European Championships held in Leipzig, as well as at the Tokyo He also won the water polo tournament of the 1964 Summer Olympics. He achieved significant sporting success in Cuba between 1967 and 1978, leading the country's water polo team to fourth place at the 1975 World Championship in Cali.
